I hit a softball sized chunk of concrete on the feeder road this morning and bent the front rim near the valve stem.  Now I get to take it off and put on one of my new front tires..  Smiley  Was going about 40 mph and changing lanes to get on the on-ramp to the freeway (Loop 610).  Pulled over to check out the damage and found this....
New ones are $305 (Ron Ayers) and I found a few new/used on ebay for $350...
Things that make me go hmmm.......
P.S.  Didn't go down, not even close.

Wow!  Looks like you had a "Ride 'em cowboy!" moment. Shocked

Don't know of any, but I'll keep my eyes peeled for a Goldwing front rim here in Austin.

I got one almost that bad from a DC pothole, riding in to work show off my new/used interstate.

Lost no air, and rode smoothly, but it worried me.

Took the wheel to a shop, and he said he would try a hydraulic press but it might bend or break.  It broke.  Got a new/used one from Pinwall.

Check with your local Higher end car dealer ( mercedes, bmw etc) see if they have a phone number for a local aluminum rim repair company. The worst the rim repairer can tell you at this point is no.

Traxxion suspension saved my bacon. If i had been on the Valk, there would be no damage.  Did the same thing on it a year ago and the chunk of concrete was larger and the ride was scarier but there was no damage to the wheel.  The tire on the wing doesn't have as much rubber between the rim and the road as the Valk does.

Glad it came out as good as it did.

I can't believe it's not already fixed.  Didn't you have your dead-blow hammer with you?

Didn't put the tool bag in the Wing before leaving for werk...  "what can happen on the 17 mile trip?" went thruogh my my head.
It took a 2lb mini sledge to get it back into "shape", but looks like he!!  Smiley

Oh well, new one on the way.  I get to put one of my new front tires on AND the front TPMS sensor.  Wheel comes with new bearings, spacer, dust seals, and stem...  TPMS has it's own 90 deg. metal stem that will go in there..
