Suggestions for a new fuel line?  Mine are deteriorated enough that they needed replacing.  I tried using standard fuel line (auto parts store type), but she's still starving at high rpm's (the bike has been desmogged).  I know the factory Honda line is preformed, and I think that may have something to do with my issues.  For example, everything is all good, but on a flat road, as soon as I try to roll on full throttle it acts like it's starving (fifth gear), maxing my speed at 75-80.

Several things can cause that, including a petcock problem, poor seal on gas tank lid, kink in fuel pick up line. etc, etc. Search the tech board for solutions.  Hoser

This is me being stupid and not including enough information again.  I have a brand new pingle installed and checked the vent line for kinks.  Thanks hoser for the info.

You checked the vent line, but check the supply line between the petcock and carbs for kinks.  Most try to put a little extra line in there to make it easier to connect/disconnect, but the dragon be a picky beast.

Patrick...I'm down to being pretty sure it's in the supply line.  As far as a Kink, there's nothing.  I cut the line as short as possible just to avoid that problem.  I'm trying to decide how badly I mangled making the two new hoses that run out of the T and into the carb banks.  Thats essentially the only place I could have F'd up badly, other than throwing out the two old hoses before checking to be sure the new one's worked.

Did you have the airbox off while replacing the lines?  Make sure you got the rubber ducts from the airbox fully seated on all the carbs.  It can be VERY hard to do, and will cause running problems if there's an air leak.  Try using a small dental-type inspection mirror and flashlight to look at the backsides of them all.

I'm at my wits end, so here's an exact run down of what's happened since it last ran "right".

I installed progressive 440's and a Hitch Doc as well as a trailer lighting plug.  All function properly.

New Air filter, OEM.

De Smog following the steps posted on shop talk.  I did not cover over the ports in the exhaust.  Instead I plugged the existing piping.

New Fuel Lines.  Along with the new fuel lines, a Pingle was installed (part number obtained from the boards) as well as a pingle hi flow fuel filter.

Replaced and bled the clutch and brake fluids with new DOT 4.  Replaced dust boot on the clutch.  Lubed the clutch and brake handles.  Screwed up the wiring coming off the clutch reservoir, since fixed (I had it backwards).

I still get starvation at 3000 RPM's.  I checked the vent line coming off the back of the tank, free air flow down through the line and out of the tank.  I've checked the intake ducts.  They are all seated properly.  Is it possible that the seals on the ducts are bleeding too much air?.

The frustration is starting to get to me.  I know it has to be something simple and overlooked, but I've racked my brain and am coming up empty.  At this point, I'm out of ideas and am seriously contemplating an actual mechanic.  So if you all have any ideas, I'm in need of one.  Thank you in advance.

$10 it's the fuel filter. Take it off and try riding it.

+1  If you installed the Pingle with the screen filter that comes with it, you shouldn't need the external filter.

One of your gas lines has a low spot in it.    The line should have a steady decline to the carb, NO rises allowed.

When adding external filters, this happens 9  out of 10 times.

I assume you did not get the vacuum operated pingle. If you did you're back to the same issues as the stock valve. From what you describe it is either in the fuel line/filter being kinked or wrong sloped and or the air box leaking at the intake boots.
Went through this with mine in the last couple of weeks once I got he fuel lines installed right and the boots for the air box installed properly she runs great 75-80 mph for a couple of hours today going to Montana and back.
