Big Al and I started out this morning to ride to Pressman's Home in east Tennessee but changed our minds about mid-stream. The Smoky Mountain Rally in Loudon Park claimed it would take up the slack the Honda Hoot left when it did'nt come to Knoxville this year. It was $10.00 to get in we rode by stopped in the parking lot and talked to a few folks. We saw maybe 60 to 70 bike ( all brands ) and I counted 8 vendor tents needless to say we took off so Al could get a Dragon sticker for his new Kawasaki KLR 650. Photo below is Big Al's new bike I rode it from Foothills Parkway to Maryville today its a pretty cool machine does'nt have alot of power but it will cruise 80/85 mph all day long.

Thanks for the pics, Joe. I was gonna ride today but went to our new fire station I've been working on for months. Thought I'd put in a few hours and go riding. Just got back to the house from the station.

I read your posts and wish I had moved a wee bit more to the East in TN last year after landing here in Thompon's Station! Always a pleasure to read your posts, and see the pics.
I hope to cross paths with you sometime.

You should have joined us last weekend on the " Tennessee Ride-In " to Fall Creek Falls. I know where you live we are building a powerline just outside Spring Hill right now. I've been through that area many times over the years.

It's a shame to hear that the rally to replace the Honda Hoot was a flop this year. Actually, this is the first I'm hearing that a rally was going to try and pick up the slack of the Honda Hoot, so that probably explains part of it. The big red machine's marketing department did do a good job on getting the Hoot out there, and the big company name brought along with it the vendors from the Americade rally. Unless Americade is over and the vendors had time to get there before today then there is no way they're going to the under promoted replacement rally.
That's a shame.
I did like that rally once upon a time.
Of course, when I was younger I enjoyed the Myrtle Beach rally too.
Glad you weren't planning on blowing a day of good riding on a small rally. Looks like more folks were on the Dragon, that makes sense.
There is a resort for sale on the other side of Fontana Dam. Or so I heard recently. I'm not cut out for the resort and entertainment industry. But if I were...
