     I see a yellow dot on my wheels that was
placed there by the factory.
  Will this mark the lite or heavy spot
on them? Or will this make mean nothing.

most shops aline that mark to the valvestem on the rim for balance

junior, how the 7734 are you going to align that yeller dot to the valve stem?  The valve stem is in the wheel and the spot is on the wheel, they no can be matched up......

well on my tires there is a yellow dot and i have never seen a yellow dot in the rim and some people dont define the differance netween the trie and rim and call them wheels.........................

now with all due respect to the elders on the board, are you haveing troubles with your medimucle? is that why your crotchety? Grin

I do mean wheels or rims,not tires.
 Maybe most people have polished off this mark
by now.
  I was lucky to find this bike in 05
with just 2500 miles on it.

Dave, I know what you are talking about.  I think you line up the "DOT" embossed on the tire with the yellow dot on the rim.  I believe mine (dot) has been polished off.  Don't think there is any remnant of yellow left. So if the yellow paint is gone, line up the "DOT" on the tire with the valve stem.
