My 2K Tourer will not start after shutting it off and the headlights are out. When i say will not start, I mean not even a click. All the other lights work just fine. I can push start it easily and it runs well, but without headlights. I installed the mini driving lights from walmart wired into the low beams. I,m in Richburg, SC, at the M6 motel. If you have any info aand would prefer to call me my number is
409 679-7520 Eli, AKA Red Diamond. Also, I have checked the fuses under the rt side cover, the 50amp fuse but can't think of anything else.

Thanks, Eli

Sent you a pm, Eli.  It may be the starter switch if you didn't install a relay with the driving lights.

Take it apart carefully (small spring-loaded bits inside) and check for burned contacts.

The fact that you can push start it and still not have headlights might mean you have a blown fuse somewhere in the circuit.  I'd disconnect the driving lights and replace the fuse for the headlight circuit and see if that helps.

Check your headlight bulbs just in case.

It doesn't fit the headlight-out symptom, but a bad battery can happen suddenly and won't  turn the engine over even though lights seem to be fine.

Also, since you said you tied into the low-beam circuit, you may have to check the Hi/Lo switch as well, depending on where you tied in.

So sorry you having issues while on the road. The weather is going to be horrible this week. Something you don't need hear right now. I assume you have checked to see where the Honda dealer is near you.  Do you have towing insurance?

Good luck tomorrow.

Thanks ValkPilot, you nailed it, the starter switch loss contact. It was not fried, but was worn down where it would not function as it should have. I cleaned and lifted the little contacts on the push button and wham, she fired right up. I'll need a new switch though, as the button hangs little so I have pull it out sometimes. Also disconnected the lights until a relay is installed. Tomorrow, back to finishing the full usage of my kitchen pass.

Thanks again, Eli

Thanks Brian, the problem has been solved, yes I do have towing, she had performed flawlessly until that little hickup, the rain won't bother me now, I've been initiated.

I have a screw with a white plastic cover on it in the left side of my starter button.  It was there when I bought the bike.....I don't know why.  That would be good if you needed to pull the starter button out.  Maybe your scenario happened to the PO of my scoot?  Thanks for the insight into the history of my bike.  Congrats on your luck in rapid discovery.  This sight is great.

Have a brand new switch part # 35013-MZO-000 as a spare for my Standard and can ship anywhere along the road for you if you want. Just say the word pottsobviousdavid@gmail.com (remove the obvious)

So glad to hear it was something you could handle on the road. Awesome people here. One member here even offering to send you his spare switch. What a great bunch of riders on this forum.
