Author Topic: Where is the marking for the age of an Avon tire and how is it stated?  (Read 765 times)

Where does the manufacturer of a tire put it's date of when it is made? Particularly Avon Cobras

And how is it stated? Or in other words how do you read it? Have heard different stories and want confirmation of what it really is.

I think all tires have a DOT number stamped in the sidewall of the tire that tells when it was manufactured. It is a 4digit number with the first 2digits being the week of manufacture and the last 2digits are the year of manufacture. For example, 2612 would be the 26th week of 2012.
