Hey all..
Finally got the S.S. Hose Slinky on the `ol girl. I may have to shorten the slinky as it's quite a bit longer that the stock black one. Almost looks like a solid tube from the bottom hose mount to the top hose mount. It does look good! Will it hurt to leave it this way or should I shorten it to allow air flow through the slinky?
I'm not sure, but it seems like the airflow around/over the hose wouldn't make much of a difference.
Took off the radiator cap to facilitate draining the coolant from the top radiator hose mount. Found out about the set screw after a lot of head scratching, wondering why it wasn't coming off!

Of course, I found that I had a leak around the radiator cap after getting the cap back on and letting it idle till it was warmed up. Did a search of the tech board and found out about "bending the little tabs" to tighten up the cap seal. Worked like a charm! No more leak, and that S.S. Slinky looks a
lot better than the stock black one!
Now, I'm wondering, just
what exactly is that set screw
for, and would it be a bad idea to just leave it off? Wanting to find out before I put my cobra chrome radiator cap cover on and button up this job.
I'm now
out of aftermarket parts to put on the Valk, for now, so I guess I'll just have to
force myself to go riding!
