Ok folks. Upon finding my toasted shock bushings last night, I decided to do a little investigating....

I'm going to be replacing some rubber this winter! Not the rubber that touches the road either...

I'm going to be overhauling: (and taking pictures/posting threads as I go)

1) the swingarm bearings/bushings
2) Wheel bearings
3) O-rings within the final drive
4) Fork seals/oils
5) "Head" bearings/bushings (within the TripleTree)

I've found a couple of these things at assorted sites around the net, but I know someone here must have a preferred dealer where I can get ALL of these things, or at least most of them.

Any takers?  Cheesy Cheesy

I know I should turn and walk away.. Why ?? Is there a reason ,other than you are bored, for doing all this work ??  I'd be surprised if that monster needs that work.. I guess I shouldn't say much though,, I've certainly done similar stuff over the years..

Unfortunately, most of the suspension is going to have to be overhauled, yes. I'm sitting at 72k and just bought the bike. It hasn't been properly maintained, and now I'm paying for it (kind of...I got it for little/nothing)

1.  HondaDirectLine......... during a 10 percent sale (over $200 free shipping).

2.  You want tier one bearings (Honda are tier one), AllBalls are Chinese, any good bearing dealer, the part numbers are generic.

3.  Here is a generic parts list      http://www.jkozloski.com/generic_parts.htm

4.  Oring kits from Carolina Bike and Trike.

Head, wheel, swingarm bearings, and fork seals and sliders do not need replaced unless defective.  But get new shock bushings for sure.

Go to HDL, learn to find their parts schematics, and make a parts list.

Thanks Jess. This info is priceless.

(as far as I know) the Head bearings and wheel bearings are OK. Fork seals are toast. Shock bushings I plan to get from "Gary's bushings." as mentioned on my thread last night.

Appreciate all of this help.

Some of us will caution against replacing wheel bearings that are not showing signs of failure. It's your choice but the old adage "don't fix it if it ain't broke" is good advice.

That said, I will also have to admit to having done just that in the past. I'm not even sure I can swear that I won't ever do it again.
Giving advice is so much easier than controlling the urge to "improve" whatever mechanical device is at hand.  cooldude

I have 129K on original front wheel bearings and head bearings. Torqued head bearings once a year ago. Don't fix what ain't broke.

HDL has a labor day sale going on, save 10% on an order over $100. It may still on right now I think the coupon code is LABOR2012. I just ordered parts on Monday.
