Reminder: DFW Ride for Kids Oct 7th!

Just a reminder.. DFW Ride for Kids is coming up next weekend!!!

Registration opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 9:45 a.m. The escorted ride starts at 10 a.m. sharp, rain or shine!

The ride will loop back to the start point. After a light lunch, participants will enjoy a Celebration of Life program that features interviews with young brain tumor survivors—the Ride for Kids® "stars" of the day. Award presentations to top fundraisers will follow.

The host hotel is the SpringHill Suites by Marriott, 2240 W. Grapevine Mills Circle, Grapevine, TX 76051. Call 972-724-5500 by Sept. 3 to reserve your room at the Ride for Kids® rate of $99/night. Remember to request the Ride for Kids® block. You can also book online. Click “find” on the left side and start the reservation from there.

The minimum donation to ride is $35, but the more money you raise, the more incentives you earn.

The VRCC was the top fundraising club last year.. so would love to see alot of Valks there.

As the top club last year, be sure to tell the parking volunteers you want to stage with the "Top Club". That will put you right behind the kids for the ride!

Thanks to the many Valk riders that are volunteering! Yes, you can still volunteer and do the ride with the kids! You will need to attend one of the two trainings at the host hotel, Springhill Suites of Grapevine. Thursday evening at 7:30 or Saturday morning at 10am.

Out of towners should stay at the host hotel and be here in time for an early dinner get together Saturday evening.

There are a several thangs that will set this year's 10th annual ride apart from year's past. If you can't bring all your friends, bring their donations. The kids will thank you in person! ~Jeff

Just saw this note from Maxim about the dinner/auction happening Wednesday:

ONLY ONE DAY LEFT TO BUY YOUR RIDE FOR KIDS BANQUET TICKETS AND BE ENTERED FOR THE $500 MAXIM GIFT CARD DRAWING.

We have sold the requisite number of tickets and now the drawing, previously for a $250 gift card, has now climbed to $500. You must purchase your tickets in advance to be eligible for this drawing so HURRY, time is running out. Pre-sale ends at the end of business on Oct 2, 2012.

Remember:
Maxim Honda is closed on Monday so you only have Tuesday, October 2 to get your tickets and get in on the $500 gift card drawing.

Only a couple days away.  Come on out this Sunday, enjoy a police escorted ride, and help some kids that really need it.  Police escort means your feet never touch the ground for a 45 minute ride around the the north side of the metroplex.  It's a great ride and a great cause.

  Raise a lot of money and enjoy the escorted ride. Can't get out of the antique show and the Oktober Fest trip thing for the Wife, lest I forfeit my K-pass for next weekend. Looks like Fredricksburg two weekends in a row.
