Has anyone had problems with Progressive Suspension 440 IAS Series ?
I just installed them for a friend last week, but they are too soft. No damping at all  Sad
I have the same suspensions on my Valk, and they are totally different... the works!  Perfect !

I'm runnin' 412's, and have had no problems.  That said, have you tried Progressive Customer Service?  I hear they are good at wanting to keep happy customers.

Possibly an adjustment issue?  Regular springs for a rider or load over 200 lbs (may need HD springs if the rider is large like me  Smiley )?

I've often heard there's a noticeable difference between the regular and heavy-duty (HD) versions.  I currently have the 13" HD 440s, and have no such complaints.  Terry

Dag, you didn't say if these were 4412 (HD) or 4213 (std rate) springs (aside from the springs, the two shocks are identical).

I was informed by a progressive tech that it takes 8 of 10 possible turns on the std shock to equal the dampening of the HD at the lowest setting.  I have HD on my IS (which progressive does not call HD...they call them std for IS, which causes a lot of confusion), and they are perfect for me on the lowest dampening setting (solo at 185lbs, with or without a medium load).  But I recently put std rate 440s on my supervalked IS, and the lowest setting (which 440s always come set at when new) was too soft.  I turned them up three turns each for the upcoming Blue-Grey ride, and a test ride seems good.

Turning the top shock cover clockwise increases dampening, counterclockwise decreases it.  There are tiny grooves which appear at the top of the shock as it is turned clockwise to increase dampening, but I felt better counting full turns from the bottom.

I'm think this is on the progressive website, but not sure.

They carry a lifetime warranty, if you have a receipt, but shipping to/from Norway will be a PITA.

I've got an '03 standard and ride 2 up 90% of the time. I run about 250 and the wife runs, well, substantially less!  Smiley Anyway, I just got my 13" HD 440's back from Progressive this week. I sent them in for rebuild because one blew a seal after 4 years and ~30K miles.  I've been VERY happy with both the shocks & the service.

I'd guess once you get the 'sag' set up properly (http://www.progressivesuspension.com/tech/sag.html), you should be OK.

The new pair 440 I bougt are exactly the same as I have on my bumblebee.
But the new have no damping at all, only the spring... Acts like a bicycle pump, somthing very wrong!

I emailed Progressive Suspension and asked them what to do.
