Whazzup????

WWW
« on: October 05, 2012, 06:18:16 PM »

Got my clutch parts in this afternoon.  I have my day planned out tomorrow.

So for those who have replace the plates, I know I need to soak the plates in oil before putting them together.  The repair manual does not state this at all.
How long should they be soaked before I put the basket together?

Thanks
Robert

Yes Robert, you want to soak them in oil before installing them.  It just gives them a better chance of surviving that first engage.

We soaked mine for a little over an hour.  350 miles and no problems yet.  Like Joe says, it's just for that initial engage.  After that, it is swimming in oil.
To quote Hot Glue, they can only soak up do much....  Hehe
