I'm wanting to sell my 99 valk but I noticed a little smoke out of my left side pipe when excellorating fast. Right side ok. Do you think my valves are burned or maybe I need to put some cleaner in my gas? I hope my valves are ok. I don't want to have to sell it for nothing. Thanks guys for any suggestions at all.

Well for the first step, what's the color of the smoke? Bluish or more like grey ( steam really ) ?

If the bike is thoroughly warmed up to where the exhaust is also at running temperature I would think the smoke will not appear.

This with the motor that is in good running condition.

A lot of this can be attributed to the fact that the bike leans to the left on the side stand.

If you run the motor while the bike is on the side stand you can expect some of this kind of affect for any number of reasons.

Could be 1 carb a little rich. or it could be nothing. Check plugs for color to see if there is some kind of indication of rich, or oil fouled. Still have the stock petcock? Could be some fuel running down the vacuum line, and would caus #6 to run rich. If they look OK just forget about it and ride cooldude

All good answers.. If you're still worried about the valves [ why would you be worried if the bike has been running good] then a compression test will let you know..
