I haven't had my Valk but about 4 months now...It has always started right up without choking. We had a little cold front come thru our area & I didn't crank it for a few days. I went out this afternoon to crank it & it took for ever to get it running....is this typical in the winter months...???

Not really, specially in MIssissippi.  Are you using the choke properly?  When turning on the choke, rotate it with your left thumb, then mash the heck out of it until it stops.  That first easy rotation is just taking up the slack in the cables.
Then it should start every time.  If not, it sounds like weak battery symptoms.   The coils on these bikes take a lot of juice.  When my battery was getting weak, the bike would actually start After I released the start button.  The coils needed that juice that the starter was using.  Smiley

Let us know what it turns out to be.

With the choke FULLY engaged DO NOT twist the throttle. Wurkx ever soooo much better dat away.  2funny After it's started it won't take too long to FULLY DIsENGAGE the choke. Hope this helps you some. RIDE SAFE.
