Gas Fumes.

Couple of weeks ago I started to smell fumes in my garage. Upon closer inspection, I found the fumes coming from the right side of my Interstate (from around the carburetors area). I had some fumes coming from the gas tank cover in the past but I replaced the cover with a new one in 2010 and fumes went away. I didn't see any moister, any wetness or stains in or around the carburetor or anywhere else on the engined or under the engine. I dropped my bike off at the Honda dealer last Friday. Today I received a call from the service manager who told me that they inspected the bike and couldn't find any leaks, wet spots, stains or moister (cold engine and after running the engine). I instructed him to pull the tank off and to continue looking for gas leak/s. Anything else I can tell them to address while they have the bike?

i have been having the same problem, i installed some gasket material under existing gasket on the gas cap as advised, i do have a tighter seal on the cap now.
but the smell is still there, i started tracing the vent hoses and i got to the end of them on the bottom of the bike and the fumes coming out of the end of them are pretty bad. i have an air filter coming in the mail, while i'm installing it i will get a better look under the gas tank.
it was advised to me to check the carb clamps....i think there is like 18 of them. good luck
if you do find the problem will you please let me know what it was//////thanks....jimmy
