I should know this, but....are the handlebars on the Valk 1' or 7/8"? I'm thinking 1", but I'm away from my bike and need to make sure.

Thanks

Why?

Not doubting, just curious.
Is it to fit better behind the fairing?

Or was it that Honda thought stronger people would ride the I/S and didn't need the leverage???

magazine articles stated Honda stated they did that to provide better protection to hands from the fairing. I tend to remember its about 5mm each side.

It is a quarter inch total (shorter), 1/8" per side...not a big deal.

Wow! As always..there is no lack of info from folks on this board. Ask what time it is and you will be told how to build a clock....not just any clock, an atomic clock (with a blower)...AND how to maintain it!!!   Grin

Thanks guys

Hmmm...

My next question is:  Why bother?

I mean, 1/4"!?!
Now the parts dept is gong to have to list another part with another number and all!
Believe me, I've dealt with enough parts people to know this will cause confusion!

Or is there other differences besides width dimensions?

No other difference.  As reported above, it was related to the IS fairing.

That's a perfect example of Honda engineering.

Or should I say over-engineering.

It explains their mindset regarding seeking perfection.

Not to say they can not screw up as many will want to point out the warts.

But overall, it's Honda's mantra that can withstand the rigors of examination by their critics.

Who else can manufacture a 300 thousand mile motorcycle?
