Power is on!  We'll load up and head home tomorrow.

I'm not sure if there are any curfews that affect me, so there's no point in going back tonight.  By the time we load up the dogs and other animals, plus our junk, we'd never make it home by dark.  So, tomorrow it is!!

I'm eager, yet terrified of what we'll find.

Best wishes! I hope it's just messy instead of expensive!

Take some stuff with ya, ya know? Bleach and spray bottles to mix with water and kill any mold...and probably the inside of your fridge/freezer. If you've got wet sheetrock/carpet just pull it out...don't try to save it. Pull it out and spray the area with bleach/water (10% bleach) to kill mold. A wheel barrow? Chainsaw? Gas cans? Clothes/bedding can sometimes be saved by washing in the machine with a good shot of bleach...

Trashbags. Get em here.

Light bulbs...maybe a drop light. Some cheap box fans for drying things out.

Got tools? Hammers/etc? Work gloves? They will be in short supply down there. Definately work gloves. There's a Home Depot right near your hotel...Plano Parkway and US75...northeast corner.

Pet food. People food too!
Good luck!

No carpet, and as far as I know, no sheetrock.   Bleach I generally keep several gallons of.  Fans I have lots of - used to not run A/C at all.  Trash bags, I should have lots of those at home as well, but will pick up a few more.  Work gloves I have dozens of, use 'em in training the dogs to track.

Those who've checked the house have not mentioned anything about windows out, and the roof decking is solid, so hopefully there won't be much damage.  Pet food I have, and I've verified that the kennel where I get it is open and functioning.

Keep your fingers crossed for us....

Congratulations, and good luck!  I hope there is minimal damage inside the house.

Moral support.  Right now that's what I need.   Moral support.

I talked again to the friend who checked out the bike barn - she only found one small thing that had fallen into the barn, and it didn't hit any bikes.  So, the big stuff is ok.  She had forgotten her house key, so didn't get into the house that day.  But she verified that she had checked the windows and all were fine.  So the cat who wouldn't be captured should still be secure in the house.  Knowing Bungie, it'll be a week or more before we see her, so it's nice to know that she didn't get lost in the outside world.

With power, we will have well water.  The propane tank was damaged and will have to be replaced - along with the three-year supply of gas it contained.  Oh, well, that's minor in the long run.  But I do have a double burner hot plate, a microwave, and a toaster oven.  And as my friend reminded me, a bread maker.  Plus a pantry full of canned stuff, so we'll have hot meals.

So, it looks like moral support is mostly what we'll need for now.
