First it's your pocketknife, what's next?  (If ya gotta ask....)

We'll prolly only be allowed plastic utensils in the near future.

Most of the boys in high school with me carried knives with them in school.
During hunting season in the fall, I would wager at least 1/2 of the cars and pickups in the school parking lot had a rifle/shotgun in them, with ammo, for hunting on the way home after school!  Most of the teachers too.
It was NEVER brought up that there might be a problem.
How the world has changed  as we get more "progressive".
It is sad.

Uh Oh! Angry Now they are getting after my weapon (OK, it's really just a tool) of choice!  tickedoff

It doesn't appear from the article that the cheap little pocket knives I carry are affected by this proposal, BUT I guess it is the slippery slope thing. Spring assisted blades now, then maybe my Swiss Army knife next...  Cheesy

It is a call to action Folks. We need to let the democratic process work. By that I mean we need to let our congressmen know how we feel about this and not just sit back and complain on motorcycle boards.  Smiley

www.kniferights.org is suppose to have sample letters to send to Congress, but I didn't find them, just a "coming soon" link... will check back later.

I think the 8 out of 10 statement is Spin/BS/overstated, but what else is new. It seems that ALL political issues are filled with lies on both sides - did we learn that from the professionals!? uglystupid2 I think so.

In Australia we have not been allowed to carry a knife for years. Thanks to the little waste of space John Howard, all knives (even those little tiny ones) are considered illegal and you end up in court if found with one. tickedoff
Its also illegal to defend yourself, you can be charged with "Using Undue Force" if you just happen to injure some cretin who tries to attack you.
I wish we had a bill of rights. Angry

Yep the loony left banned most knives in the UK as well.

They had a number of amnesty days when you could hand in your knives.

I carry a Kershaw speedsafe 3 inch pocket knife everywhere I go. I have had it on every motorcycle trip I have been on (except Canada of course). To think that I could be branded a Felon for carrying a little pocket knife is absurd.

For anyone who wonders why "we" jump up and down screaming, frothing at the mouth at every little tiny perceived slight against our rights (We = Gun nuts), this is why...

So in the future, they'll be licensing cooks and all food will have to be served for eating with chopsticks?  After all, one of the stories told about chopsticks was that they were used to prevent stabbings at the table ...

in new jersey it is already illegal to carry any type or size knife on ones person or in a vehicle. However, they have to prove your criminal intent if one is caught with a knife.
With long guns, it is illegal to own one outside of your home unless u have a state issue ID card which allows u to have the long gun in your procession.
NJ weapons laws are very confusing and very nazi-like.

Those evil, evil, Ken Onion designed Kershaws!

Kershaw Leek, here.  Never leave home without it.  What is odd tho, is I've never considered it a weapon.  Its simply a tool that I use ALL the time.
