05 k1500. 6 way power leather bucket seat. drivers side. back  broken.

going to take it out and have it welded.

question, ANY connection to the air bag? if i disconnect the electrical, will it set off the air bag?

sounds like a silly question, but ya never know.

thanks

Whenever we work on seats in a vehicle with air bags, we disconnect the battery 1st, when seat is reinstalled, we then hook up the battery and park in the awaiting pickup lot.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Im gonna say no. The airbag is a yellow thick wire. Airbags can still go off without a battery.

I have an '03 1500 Suburban.  When working on replacing my front air bag sensors, my mechanic disconnected the battery, and waited 30 minutes (for any capacitors to discharge).  You 'probably' have nothing to worry about, unless it has side air-bags.

If it has side air bags in the seat I would remove it before any welding. I am assuming your removing seat from truck? If not unhook battery also.
