Been thinking for a while, what I would want to include in a long travel Valkyrie spare part and special tool pack that would cover a high precentage of typically known Valk problems. Your suggestions?

There was an alternator pulled in the parking lot here at Chambersburg  last night. Frank Smoak's
alternator failed at the end of BMDR last year...

Replaced a left rear wheel bearing in a parking lot once without a jack and minimum tools.  Usually carry a spare plus a tire plug kit and a small compressor.

I carry the OEM tool kit, a tire plug kit, compressor, one spare spark plug, and some wire ties.

It's hard to tell what you're really going to need without a good crystal ball Smiley

It seems there are a lot of alternators that go bad.  Mine died at 35,000 miles.  They go out without any warning so you can expect to get stuck if that happens.  Here's a site for good rebuilt alternators: http://mysite.verizon.net/resp3jbj/

I carry the extra spark plug now because I had one foul the day after a 1,000 mile ride.

Most of the time my tools get borrowed by Harley owners that ride with me  Grin

other than a stop N go tire plug kit and compressor, I always carry tie wraps, several disposable funnels, 6' length of tygon tubing for siphoning gas, spare kick stand bolt and spring, spare tire valve and plastic valve support, blue locktite, and superglue.  I keep a set of 2mm to 6 mm T-handle hex keys and 8mm, 10mm and 12mm sockets and box wrenches.   It's always good to have some spare water bottles for either you or the radiator too.

its cheesy as hell but I got a "gator grip" socket for a present one christmas and wont leave home w/o one now.
The  cursed thing has saved my butt and several others more than a few times.  Will work on metric and SAE
bolts, nuts, broken off, non metal, plastic etc.  For $20 its the single best tool I carry round.  A small blue metric
allen wrench tool with 2mm-12mm, small wratchet vice grips, 10mm 12mm sockets and small driver w/adaptor.
But best would be AAA towing card cause you never know....
