Update!

The crew left a little while ago, and it's amazing.  The four rooms that had ceiling cave ins have been cleaned up, and I'm really impressed.  It doesn't look nearly as bad with the debris gone.  The ceilings are still gone, of course, and the tarps are overhead, but it still helps immensely.

I'm blessed with a very good friend who put me to the top of his list.  Else I might be waiting a long time.  Plus, most of his other jobs are total strip outs, so those folks will be out a long time anyway, and he wants to be sure I can get back to normal as soon as possible.

I'm still in shock, moving slowly, but at least I am moving.  I've managed to bag up about 2/3 of my tshirt collection, label, and return the bags to the shelves to the shelves.  I have about 2 shelves left to go.  Then I'll have to find another project I can deal with.

It's weird, in most ways I'm not a helpless type, but in something like this, I'm darned near useless.

Anyway, wanted everyone to know things are looking up.

Tomorrow they'll be back, and are supposed to tackle several jobs - bringing down the remaining ceilings in the affected rooms, and they're to mow, weedeat, etc., my kennel runs so that I can bring the dogs home after TR's BBQ.  Weeds grew up while I was on my summer trip(s), and I'd been on the road too much to knock 'em down.  Now I need the runs for the dogs to keep them out of the work zones.  And out of the way of the workers.

And I'll take a couple of the guys to the store (business roof was also a victim) to haul my stuff out of my office so they can have that space.

Sigh.

The plans are to improve over the original work, so I'm spending more, but it'll be worth it.  I just want it DONE!!

Our going to the BBQ will probably work out well, so the guys can get in here without us under foot.  What small valuables we have (handguns, rolled coins, etc.) will be boxed up and taken to a trusted neighbor's house, just to remove temptations of unsupervised workers in the empty house.
