Had a leaky fork seal so took this opportunity to change out the front springs and rear shocks for progressive fork springs and 412 shocks.
Only about 35 miles on 'em so far but much better ride.

I found that if you pull both rear shocks then put a 2x4 on a floor jack under the luggage rack you can stretch things enough to get everything bolted up. I had the dealer do the forks.

Out of morbid curiosity, what's the going rate for changing out fork seals?

I carried just the forks to the stealer here, $205 for seals & bushings, their parts.

$300. I carried in the forks, with loosened caps, and supplied the fluid. They didn't change
the seals or anything else. Five years ago. That's the only part of my bike (since I've owned it)
that has ever seen a dealer...

I bought new bushings, sliders seals and progressive springs and took the forks into the dealer, while I waited and was charged 86 bucks for the labor and fork oil.
But all labor depends on what the stealer charges in your neck of the woods, which can be drasticly different in different areas.

Chancing the seals is a pretty quick job if you have the right tools and know what to do next.  There is usually a lot of head scratching time added on if the mechanic isn't farmiliar with the valkyrie forks.  I've done 5 pair since last spring and it just gets quicker with each change...Jim  cooldude
