Also, if I could suggest a slight modification to the route, after crossing Lake Worth on 199, that we take Watercress Drive to Silver Creek Road before rejoining 199.

At Westsider's suggestion, we took this route as part of the ride to the Stockyards and it's a nice bit of scenic road.

I'll post a GPS file of the route if we can get the meet up and this question resolved.

Assuming it's the one we've use in the past, it's at 6300 Lake Worth Blvd, Ft Worth, TX  76135

Map of and directions to there.

Assuming this is about what y'all had in mind, I plan on meeting up either in Lake Worth, Lipan or Strawn..........I know it will be a surprise but Peggy thinks she wants to go and tomorrows am forecast is in the mid 30's. A lot depends on her!  I mapped it out as to get somewhat of a idea of the time. Included is a 15-20 stop in Lipan.

I like this modification.
You meant Silver Creek road north to FM1886 (Confederate Park Rd)?
By all means put the route in your GPS.
I ride with the directions taped to the tank.
I hope you have a CB so you can tell me when it is time for a U-turn.

What program did you use?
I doesn't look my Google maps.
We'' take a little more time than you planned to get through Weatherford with all the shoppers.

This is the route, plotted in Microsoft Streets & Trips (what TJ is using):

Here's a route file to upload to a GPS: Jacksboro To Strawn  Right click on the link and choose "Save Targe As", then save to a convenient place on your hard drive for transfer to your GPS.

#2 son just called and has car problems on the way back to College Station so I'm heading south in a couple of minutes and won't be on the ride.

I think I'll just stop saying I'm going on rides since it seems to doom me.

Peggy and I made it back at about 4pm. About a 190 mile round trip. Hot chocolate in Lipan hit the spot and warmed us up nicely. What a nice day for a ride!!  cooldude Temp was in the upper 30's when we left and 59 when we got home.

I think everybody had a good lunch at Mary's in Strawn. Thanks Speedo for leading the ride! It was good seeing everybody.

Great riding today. Too bad the lunch portions were so small. Here's my lunch plate next to a quarter.

Sorry about the more northerly route than preferred on the way  back. I should have stopped at 4 and 180 to give you a choice. My built in dislike for interstates and the 180 to 20 route kicked in and I just kept going. Here's the sculpture I was heading to see on 920, but couldn't remember the number

Speedo's route to Mary's was great, and the impromptu route home was really good too.  No complaints from me about the "more northerly" part.

It is good to try new things. Yesterday I got the "open faced roast beef" sandwich at the local
diner. It was the most awful grade-Z slice of mystery meat I ever tasted, only ate about two bites.

Yours looks real good  cooldude

It was a beautiful day for a ride.  Dark and 39 when I woke up and a cloudless 37 when I left the house.  Fine with the right gear and by mid-morning, it was perfect and remained so for the rest of the day.  I met up with Valkpilot, Yoda Master, and Jaime in Lewisville for the ride to West Ft Worth.

Side note: I knew several years before I finally got another motorcycle that I was going to get a Valkyrie.  At the 2005 Int'l Motorcycle Show I met a couple of Valkyrie guys and we talked for a short time.  Years later we figured out it was Jaime & JC.  I've logged lots of miles with JC since resuming riding in 2007, but this was the first time Jaime and I rode together.  It only took 7 years.

Met up with Speedo & Sidecar at the Race Trac, and after topping off the tank (65 miles & 32.4 mpg on Chevron Premium) I noticed a guy making a bee line toward me.  Turns out it was an old VRCCer named Robert.  Handle is rapper.  He rode with the group a time or two years ago and still has his '99 Tourer, but hasn't been involved in a long time.  We talked Batwings and Non Motorcycle-Specific tires and we encouraged him to get back in touch with us.

The ride from Race Trac to Lipan (2 dead 4-point bucks & 1 live coyote), where we met Peggy & 5_19 was 99% great and 1% Very Close Call.  We all know "they" are out to kill us.  Let's remember not get too relaxed even when we think we are out in the country with no traffic to manage.  Deal?  The ride from Lipan to Strawn was 100% great.

It had been 4 years since I had enjoyed a CFS + MP + CG + TGS at Mary's.  It won't be another 4 years, trust me.  It was dee lish and had hunger sauce all over it.  I got the small...

Filled up in Strawn (102ish miles & 42.5 mpg on Race Trac Premium), followed 5_19 around Lake Palo Pinto, and had a great northerly route back (1 dead doe and one headless assumed to be buck), topped off with a milkshake in Bridgeport.  It was a great ride.
