I have sold the first Valkyrie that I had last week. A 2000 standered with 39950 miles on it so I could make some extra cash and try and find another one. Well I found one a 1999 I think its a standered but not sure. Someone has did some mods on it, and also messed some things up. It has 17600 miles on her and seems to run ok. I took it for a ride and it had a lag just off idle but the tank was low, because the next time I tried to start it she woundnt fire up because of the low gas. I will be keeping this one because of the low miles. I need some parts for it and want to get the best price and thats what I need the most help with. Someone has messed up the shock covers with dings and scratches on both and it has cobra floorboards and are pitted. It needs a couple of other chrome parts and they are still aval on ebay and through Honda. So mostly I need the shocks chrome covers and or the shocks or an aftermarket ones. I also need a good but price wise chromer someone had the wheels chromed and are very pitted and either need rechromed or stripped of the chrome so I can paint them. I am thinking of painting the bike a lighter brighter royal blue with metal flake but my son likes the black and silver what do you guys think keep her stock or show my skills with the paint gun. Here is a link to my 2008 Victory Vision I got as a salvge unit look through them and let me know what you think http://www.thevog.net/forum/thread/14585/video-vog-member-spotlight-meet-dain-and-checkout-his-restored-victory-visi/ . I got her naked lol and did all the work my self. Thanks, Dain

By the looks of the Vision in the video, it looks like your Valk is in capable hands!  In my opinion, the Valk looks best with a two-tone paint job, and will appeal to more buyers than a solid-coloured Valk.  The only exception would be solid black.  Any time you deviate from the more popular OEM colour combinations seen on similar (not necessarily Valkyrie) motorcycles, you will need to be careful in your choice.  Can you post pictures of bikes in the colours you are considering?

With the pitting and scratches it sounds like it may be on the second time around on the speedo.  Not necessarily a bad thing, mine has 110000 and some on it and most folks find it hard to believe the actual miles it has.  If the owner has had it since new or close to it., the title would not necessarily show the actual miles.  If the price was right I wouldn't worry.  Hoser

The pitting is on the wheels and just a couple of small bubbles on the left valve cover. There is none on the timing cover or other chrome, so I know the miles are right. The wheels are chromed and were done poorly thats all. The title has a spot for over milage. The rest of the bike seems fine, besides the wheels and the rear shock covers and the dent in the tank. I could be wrong but from what I see the miles are right.  Dain

Glad to hear it, when I got mine in 2002, it had 06234 miles on it and that is what is on the new title I was issued.  My Speedo reads 09973 now, it really has 109973 on it, so you see that it could be done. If I was to sell it I could claim that as total milage and probly get away with it, which I would not do. However, someone else might not think like me and you. Something to think about whenever you look at a bike.  If I was to sell it now, the buyer would get a beyond range of instrument title, such as you got. Looks new doesn't it?  Hoser  Smiley
