My next door neighbor has a 97 Valk Std. and one of the lights in the speedo is out. According to the CD I have the odometer reset knob has a screw holding it in.  Well, I see NO screw, not can I get it off. Must be my old eyes. Can anyone tell me how to get that knob off. Don't want to break someone elses bike. I do good enough on my own. crazy2

There's one in there for sure. It takes a #1 or 0 phillips, then the knob should just pull off.

There is a black rubber plug in the end which gives access to a small phillips head screw.

Thanks fellas, I'll be changing out my steering stem bearings today and will see if I can get his light done as well.

OK I went out to look at mine and I can see the phillips head screw (#24) down in the knob (#10).  But I do not have a black rubber plug in the knob and don't see that piece in the parts diagram below.

because it's not typically there....you're ok.  My 1999 and my buddies 2000 don't have a rubber plug either.

If mine or Chiko's has a rubber plug I can't see it. Probably due to my crappy upclose vision. I can't see the head of the screw either.

Mine has no rubber plug either but the screw is in there.  Just get a super-tiny cross-tip screwdriver and get at it.

Yes, it's a tiny screw....2 mm.  It's easy to round off the head if you use too big of a Phillips screwdriver.
