I'm a brand new owner of a fine Valkyrie Interstate Trike. I'm having a hard time locating some parts information and technical issues. Can anyone tell me if the front and rear speakers are interchangeable with part numbers and/or replacement speakers. Do most people use a headset microphone or a handheld one with their CB. I can't receive any transmissions through the speakers even though I've selected the speaker option.
Thanks. I was going on a bit.

I'm not sure the CB will play through the speakers.
I think only the headsets are in the CB audio output.

The CB only works through the headsets. Are you sure you have a CB? All Interstates come with the controls, but, do not come standard with the CB unit. Hope you already knew that. The CB should be a blsc box mounted undr the trunk rack, and you should have a second antenna on the left side

You can switch from speakers to headset for both. The far right lower toggle switch is the SPKR/HS control.
From the User's Manual: To Switch the CB or Audio System Between Speaker and Headset • Push the SPKR/HS lever up to select AUDIO. • Push the SPKR/HS lever down to select CB.
If you don't have the Manual, or like me only have a manual for the Standard/Tourer, I can email you the pages for the radio controls that someone on this board graciously sent me a few years ago. Fred.

Thanks to those that offered advice. My CB transmit symbol comes on when I use the trigger transmit on the handlebars. My CB/speaker indicator switches back and forth like it should and depending on what other functions I have activated, and the squelch setting, the RX lights up showing I am receiving a transmission. I downloaded an installation and operating manual but any documentation would help. I am also living in South Florida in case there are some local experts. Thanks again.

Couple if things. Make sure the plug from the CB I'd plugged into the radio. The cable comes from the rear of the bike and has about a 3/4 inch round plug that mattress with a like plug on the radio. Sometimes just unplugging this and plugging it back in will get it to working. Also, check the pins inside and make sure they are all the same height. 2 pins on mine were pushed in more than the others and my CB wouldn't transmit. Good luck. Hay Jimmy

The CB will most definitely play through the speakers, or the headset, whichever one you set it for. Not sure how you would set up a hand held mic for the Valkyrie unit, and I certainly wouldn't want to use one while I'm riding anyway. Are you sure it's on? The radio is not self explanatory on the Valkyrie. The button on the side (left side) of the control unit (on the handlebars) changes the mode of the radio, and turns it on/off. If it's off, pressing it will turn it on, pressing and holding again will turn it off. Pressing briefly will cycle it through the modes. There are five modes (not necessarily in this order): 1) FM/AM radio on, CB on. 2) FM/AM radio on, CB off. 3) AUX (line input) on, CB on. 4) AUX on, CB off. 5) Neither AUX nor FM/AM on, but CB on. If you don't have the CB plugged in, the CB on modes will not appear. So, make sure you are in a CB on mode, make sure your squelch is turned down enough, and set for speakers. It sounds like you know how to do that. If the radio is receiving a transmission, an icon will appear on the display that says "RX" (if I recall correctly- I'm not looking at it at the moment). It doesn't look much like an R, but that's what it's supposed to be. When you hit the transmit key, you'll get a "TX" icon.
Verify all these things, and get back to us.
As for your speakers question: Sorry, but I can't remember whether the speakers are interchangeable or not.

Thank you all for taking time to help. I have tried all those steps and observed all those indications as I cycle through the different modes. I will try all the connections again. BTW what headset system should be used with this system. That info was not passed down from the previous owners.

So you're seeing RX and TX when you're receiving or transmitting, but still no sound? Are you getting sound out of the speakers from the FM/AM radio? Does the little headset icon appear on your display? When you change from headset to speaker for either music or CB, there should be a headset icon, with one (or both) of two words next to it. Once again, I'm not looking at it, but I think it says "CB" and "Radio", or soemthing like that. When neither is set for headset, the entire headset icon disappears. Cycle through that, and make sure that's working.
No particular headset is required, as long as it uses that 5 pin connector. Most give that as an option. Edsets.com sells a good one, but they're expensive (in my opinion). Still, I have two of their headsets, and am looking to buy a third.

I hear music as the FM radio works fine and scans as it's supposed to. The headset icon comes and goes when I switch to/from speaker/headset. I will check the connections again. Thanks again for the continued advice.

Hey Magnmm, First off welcome to our Valkyrie world!
I believe your problem is the volume for the cb and intercom is set at zero. Set audio to fm with cb on and then push the Vmode button once and then your volume up switch to your comfort volume. This volume may have to change while using a headset.
When group riding I go with the speakers on and the cb thru my Edsets headset works great. In helmet free states I'll switch the cb to the external speakers but cannot transmit as mic is in headset.
Hope this info helps. Let us know.

Good catch NJF6. I forgot about the volume control for the CB. It always takes me a few times to get the volume right for speakers our headsets. The front and rear speakers are different. J & M makes some replacements for the stock ones that handle a little more power. Hay Jimmyt
