i know this has been asked before but having trouble finding it.  what's the trick to getting the new bushings into a set of 412 progressive shocks - they are being very stubborn.

padded vice jaws and a bit of lube....press slowly.

Spray a bunch of rubbing alcohol on the bushings and the metal. It's a great lube and will evaporate without leaving any residue. Then use the padded jaws mentioned.

Might try a couple of strategically sized sockets in the vise. I used a bolt/nut and various sockets/washers to get the mcmaster/Carr bushings in mine (thanks to the board for that info by the way.  Really happy with them)

Wrap a wash cloth around the bushing, and shock....then place it in your mouth and bite down as hard as you can. padded jaws.
