Anyone have a pretty good or decent lead on bank CD rates for one year or less term? Also, anyone use Ally (formerly GMAC in Utah) for CDs? Best I've seen is 2.35 APY at Ally for one year on the national level...nothing I've found that close in the metro Detroit area. I've never used an "out of state" bank or credit union for CD's in the past - strictly local facilities. Just wondering if anyone has experience or recommendationa on this topic. Could use any profits to buy chrome for the Valk so now it's Valk related ! LOL !! TIA !!

Ive been with GMAC/ALLY for five years. When I first opened my money market with them I was getting 5% interest. My latest statement indiactes im reaping 1.88 %. Im not willing to "lock in" for another point, so I guess its as good as Im going to do.

Remember when rates were 13 percent? The CD rates were good but not much else.

I mean no disrespect to any of my Valkyrie brothers and sisters out there. But be very careful with any investment advise...there is plenty of Bernie Madoff sh*t scum out there just waiting to "service you". I'm sure I don't have to explain the context of the word "service" to anyone.

13? If my rememberer is correct I got 18% for a one time deal in about 81 on $1,000.00? Raymond

Thanks for the info guys.....appreciate it....I was able to find 2.25% on a 16 month and 1.7 for a 9 month or 1.8 on a 10 month CD's at my local credit union......the 16 month is a little longer than I wanted but the rate was close enough to the Ally 12 month at 2.32% that I went with it.....

Just wait a few months. You very well may see a higher return than 18% on CD's and Treasury Bond...... What`s you talkin about Curmudgeon !!!! I have one coming due to end @ 3.440 and one @ 4.50. I`m lost as to where to go now.
