1500 gold wing is the same, except for two years, 88 and 89 (I think these two years are correct).

The two years that won't work have 6 posts instead of five on the flange. I have a 1500 wing flange
right here to look at. And I know where a few with very minimal wear can be had for $20 or $25...

minimal = I wouldn't use it with perfect final drive splines, they'd be worth a new flange.

Are the hub splines the same as ours on the 88's and 89's with just the flanges being different on those years?

I'd sure like to get one of those $25 hubs you mention.

I got a flange from the trike guy for $25. I got the wing final drives for $75, almost too much, but
since I received a bad final drive when I tried to buy it off eBay, I figgered holding it in my
hand and inspecting it before I bought it was worth it.

The trike guy said something that made me think that a five-fingered flange would fit
into a hub made for a six-fingered flange, but even if that is true, it doesn't mean that
the pressed-out splines of a six-fingered-flange-hub  coolsmiley would be right for us.

EDIT: I just verified that the part number for the 88 wing ring gear is the same as for a
98 wing ring gear, so I'd say - they'd work fine...

See this flange? It is on my bike now. See down in the splines on the left side how the spline
edges look shiny? I bet this flange wouldn't pass the "click test" that the trike guy and I invented
the other day when we were looking through his pile of flanges. I bet  he has some flanges that
are as good, or pretty-much-as-good as this flange. I'm thinking of going back over there and
getting one or two more wing final drives if I can find ones that look like they have good splines.
I might pick up some flanges too. Some of the flanges he has I wouldn't want to use, don't know
whether it is just a few or most of them... I was real picky when I there the other day, and only
took the flange we found that seemed to have no wear at all..
