I received a message from one of our member's relatives over the weekend.  Some of our Houston members have met Jeff Brouillette.  He just recently joined the group, and bought an Interstate in April to park next to his Tourer.
I have been told that he passed away last Tuesday, of a blood infection.  I would hate to have to filter through email and respond to a loved one's friends in this situation, but how else would we know that a friend was gone?
I didn't get to know Jeff until just recently, but what I knew, I liked.  He was friendly, helpful, and enthusiastic about the Valkyrie.
He will be missed.

Mark, I didn't know Jeff, what handle did he go by? I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet him. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I'm trying to place him, was he one of the new guys who came to Woodrow's?  I'm sorry to hear of the loss of any Valkyrie rider ...

I don't recall him ever posting, just email and showing up to Woodrow's.

Yes, he's one of the newer folks.  First showed up in February(?).  Big fella.  The first time he was there, he was talking about buying a red/black interstate from Tennessee.  He was one of the two folks that arrived before us, and the waitress told us that there were other Valkyrie riders there, and since we didn't know him, we hadn't seen him when we arrived...  Sat over to your right, past Maris.

Very sad news. Is there a family member we can send a card to? Has the funeral already happened? I hate to hear this....

Yes, Jeff was one of the other 2 that we met at Woodrow's on Richmond.  The other one was David that works out at NASA I think.  Jeff really seemed like a nice guy.  He had dreams of riding from Beaumont to El Paso, trying to keep up with the sun as it makes it's way across the state.  Called it the equinox ride or something like that.

Shared a couple of beers and dinner with him back on May 20th.  We will miss him.

How long ago was his death?

Prayers for him and his family.

The funeral was Saturday.  The email came a bit too late for us to respond in time for the funeral, unfortunately, but I'm amazed that Etta (the woman who contacted me) had the courage to go through his email contacting friends as early as she did.  I'll see if we can get an address.
