I'd like to go back to a OEM stock windshield for my '97 Standard. Is there any place I can get one as a package with the mounting hardware? I know they're a bit pricey, but I like the look....

Try the classified section; I believe there is one on there right now.

I've been checking the classifieds thread, but I pretty much decided to spend the extra bucks and get a new one, so I'm looking for a supplier who can package the hardware along with the tourer windscreen.

I cut and pasted the prices of all the parts into a calculator the other day... $1,100 or $1,200 dollars. -Mike

they are no longer available as a kit. Others have posted the prices of the separate pieces, $$$$. I would suggest used, then if the plastic is bad, Clearview makes a great replacement, but NO hardware. MP

A friend and I bought new plastic for our Valks about a month ago. Ordered new OEM from Power Sports dealer, cost for plastic only was $300, don't know about the hardware since we already had OEM windshields.

The Clearview is much a better shield at that price point...

I met Pathfinder (Dan) up near Knott's Berry Farm yesterday and bought the Clearview windshield with the OEM hardware he wa selling in the Classifieds here. Wasn't cheap but much less than new OEM hardware would have been. Great looking windshield. I'm a happy camper.

I like my Clearview shield...
Clearview shields are acrylic. Most shields are polycarbonate I think.
Here's a generalization of the differences from a website:
Each of the two have benefits and drawbacks. Acrylic is shinier and polycarb is stronger. Acrylic is less expensive but easier to crack. Polycarb is more impact resisant but easier to scratch. They are both stronger and lighter than untempered glass; acrylic is 4x to 8x stronger than glass, while polycarb is about 200x stronger.
Clearview sez their acrylic is "souped up"...
