Anything special I need to be aware of or look out for, or adapters I need to make sure I get? I'm thinking of putting boards on my Valk in lieu of the stock pegs. I just like the "sturdiness" feel with a board. Just wondering with the layout of the Valk motor if there are any issues that come into play.

If you live in a curvy place, you might not like boards. At the very least, you'll be sharpening their edges up regularly. Cobra boards generally end up looking beat with flaking chrome, I think... -Mike

Because of the placement of the gear shifter I think there is a problem with shifting efficiently when employing floor boards.
I think most who install floor boards also install a heel/toe shifting mechanism to aid in shifting, and it seems there have been quite a few reports of problems with these kind of shifters.

I replaced my stock drivers pegs with the Kuryakyn iso-pegs which are wider than the stock pegs and feel more stable. No problems with shifting with them. I put Kuryakyn iso-boards on for the passenger and wife loves them.

I replaced the pegs with Cobra floor boards and just had to readjust the shifter about a quarter inch lower. Its no big deal. Unless you have size 14 feet. I just got a new to me GoldWing the 1st thing that went. The same stupid crappy foot pegs.

+1 on the iso pegs. Matched them up from front to back so the wife has them also. She feels alot more stable using them in place of the stock pegs. She will get boards someday.

Where's the link, so I don't have to hunt? Just FYI, the Cobra boards for Valk rider are actually smaller rears adapted to the Valk front, because of the valve covers and shifter setup, the space available at the center control Valk is simply smaller than for most cruisers. Even with 8.5 feet and kickshifter, my left foot is rarely all the way on the left board (toe generally out at 45* off the board). Course, that doesn't make them any cheaper. And yeah, mine are scraped down on the outer edges. As far as new Kury smaller boards, I do not know if these will work on valk driver position with proper honda peg adapters. http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/4294/Premium-Mini-BoardsBut I believe many have used the ISO Wings at the Valk driver position (with adapters). http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/958/ISO-Wing-Pegs-without-AdaptersAnd #7946 http://www.kuryakyn.com/Products/1597/Peg-Adapters-for-Metric-Cruisers

Thanks for looking that up Jess. I just saw his request and was getting ready to pull it. Anyway, think those may work?

Sorry, we were discussing those new Kury mini-boards. When in doubt, call Kury direct and ask for a tech guy. But don't order from them, aftermarket vendors all discount from MSRP.

For me I'm happy with the OEM pegs as I think I'd be cramped with boards. If I was to give boards a try I was thinking this would be the way I'd go. Less the heal shifter as I know I'd not have any room for my foot.
