Would anyone be able to enlighten me on the sequence to useing the Twinmax ? I've sent out an SOS to BlueValk.
I believe you connect from the ( A ) probe on the unit to the #3 carb, then connect the ( B ) probe to each of the carbs you are adjusting.
I've tried to incoporate the service manual, but can not seem to understand the sequence.   uglystupid2
Any Twinmax users out there that can help out, i'm all ears.
I plan on bringing the Twinmax down with me to Inzane, but would love to be good with it before then.

Thank's All
Al

A to 3 and B to the one you are adjusting.  I usually do 4 first.  Put a golf tee or similar in the line you take off of 3, so that when you put 4 back on it doesn't suck air in and make it run lean.  You will take it out when you finish.  I usually do 4,2,6,1,5 in that sequence.  Don't worry about pinching off the line to 6 as suggested, you won't have it off long enough to run out of fuel.
Turn the sensitivity up full and be sure to zero the meter carefully, it is very sensitive.  When the needle is swinging either side of zero the same amount you are finished.  I usually put a box fan in front of the bike to keep it cool, you may not need to do that in AK.
good time to check all the lines for cracks.

when you turn the screw to the right, the needle moves to the right if I remember correctly.  Important and you will figure it out for yourself if you don't do this, take the screwdriver off the screw after each adjustment.  If you don't it will change when you take it off the screw and you think you had it just right.  You will find yourself overcorrecting so that when you remove it, the needle will swing correctly either side of zero the same amount.

I ran six individual vacuum lines with check valves in each up to the cover just in front of the tank on the left hand side and I ran them all into a common manifold.  The lines are not labeled in this picture but they are now!  The number three line has a tee in it that goes off to the vacuum canister for the cruise control and the vacuum for the petcock.  I simply pull #3 tube off that tee and hook up the Twinmax there.  I put hemostat clamps on all six lines at the manifold then start it up and let it warm up.  Then I just pull the clamp off the #3 line and whichever one I want to check and can very rapidly check each and every one against the reference #3 by removing and installing a clamp on each line.  The make adjustments as needed without reaching in behind those carbs and getting burned trying to connect and disconnect the lines.   cooldude

I've been using the Twin Max for a few years and found it works very well on my '99 I/S.  I had to put hose extensions on the supplied hoses so that I can set the Twin Max on the seat of the bike while working with it.  I put the A side onto carb 3 and then just go around to the other carbs with the B side, balancing them to carb 3.  The bike must be warmed up; pinch off the vacuum hose to carb 6 before commencing the process.  I always put a golf tee into the hoses pulled off carbs 3 and 4 to seal them up however I have never been able to find any information on whether this should be done or not.  I always balance at idle, apparently some people balance at 3K rpm...I always rev to see if there's a large difference.  Apparently, if the rad fan comes on during the balancing, this will cause some problems.

Hope this helps.
