At long last:
A hotel for the Kerrville ride-in has been chosen.  We will be at Inn of the Hills.  Dates are October 10, 11, and 12.  We were unable to convince them to block off rooms for us, but if you go online, you will be able to book a room, and they told us they have quite a few available.  I recommend booking it online, as the rate there is much lower than for calling in.  Go to:
http://book.texashotel.org/hotel/?refid=1094&rs_hid=8762505&view=m
and "Check Hotel Rates".

I'm going to do my best to find a mount for that weekend, since mine may be down for the count (insurance adjuster is due to pick it up Monday).

I think I posted this at a bad time, as a lot of folks were already on their way to the cookout.  So, I'll bring it up to the top.  Who's up for the Texas VRCC gathering in the hill country?

Daniel, would you "sticky" this one for me?

That's just about 10 days away and not sure how many can make plans that quickly or did so with the notice last Friday.  With the hurricane issues still a prime concern of many of the participants and the relatively short window before it happens, I recommend that the ride be canceled this year.  Anyone looking for a ride can do the Romp in the Swamp, which has been scheduled a while longer.  With your bike taking that sitz bath, you might have to rent a [shudder] Harley for the ride and then everyone would have to wait for you to catch up, anyway.

Sometimes, you gotta' step back to go forward.  This is one of those years, IMHO.

I'll put the notice out to the DFW riders and see if we can get a headcount.

Fredericksburg didn't work out as a location.  Yes, it was the same date.  What do ya'll think?  keep it in Kerrville on Oct. 10-12, postpone a few weeks, postpone a few months, postpone till spring?  Everybody speak up quick, because our time is approaching rapidly.

I vote to postpone, either a couple of weeks or Spring.
With Ride for Kids this weekend in DFW I just can't pull off taking next weekend off also.

I think we'll still be unpacking .... though they should be through with the work on the house by then (PLEASE let them be through by then!!)

I'm not used to strange men walking into the bedroom without knocking (during the day, of course).  I'm not used to having to knock on my own bathroom doors.  They're blocking doors and pounding on the roof.  It's chaos!!

We are planning to attend the Romp in the Swamp, though.

OK, due to complete ambiguity, I'm going to wave this one off.  We will not hold this next weekend.

So, when DO we hold it?  November?  Spring?  Speak up and be heard.  I'll try to figure out how to post a poll here, and look at what we come up with.

A courageous call by our Texas Rep.  And a very good one.

Springtime looks good - gives people more of a chance to clean up down there and we don't have big rides in the spring, normally.  Rivers might be up, which would look great in the pictures.

Let's pick a date and start promoting asap.

Thanks for this morning showers Rainmaker.
Rockeman was asking for help with a poll.
Do you think we could also add a poll on a change of meeting place for DFW........ Grin just kidding, but I couldn't resist.
I agree with Rainmaker, let's pick a date in Sping and move forward full speed ahead.
