You'll find great roads anywhere in the Adarondaks.
Where are you coming from? What's your intended route?
Try this route/area:  http://maps.yahoo.com/;_ylc=X3oDMTExNmIycG51BF9TAzI3MTYxNDkEc2VjA2ZwLWJ1dHRvbgRzbGsDbGluaw--#mvt=m&lat=43.188138&lon=-74.055005&zoom=12&q1=lake%20luzerne%2Cny&w0=&q2=mayfield%2Cny&w1=&q3=broadalbin&w2=43.16161672752101%2C-74.11033630371094&q4=lake%20luzerne

Great roads, you'll find good eats, fantastic scenery.

Also try getting up to Saranac Lake/Lake Placid area.

When are you heading this way?

We will be coming across on the Port Kent ferry, and it should be sat & sun the 27th & 28th. We should be able to get to the Sarnac/Lake Placid area with 2 days in the saddle. Thanks for the link.
