I have this 99 Tourer that I havent sold yet and I am now begining to wonder if it's been lowered. When I turn the handle bars to the left it wants to fall over. I think I had read where some have lowered these bikes by cutting the left fork spring spacer. It does seem to look like someone has had the left side top nut off, but just the left. The bike has only 17,340 miles on it. I picked up one off ebay for $5.00 shipping included, don't know how I got it so cheap. My Q is how hard is it to change out the spacer and where should I get the seal kits because I might as well change those while I'm at it. Here is the youtube link to the bike so you can tell me if it looks like it might be lowered.

. I would rather not sell it with a lowered front and I am only going to list it one more time and if I cant sell it I am going to keep it. I do really love the bike but have a Victory Vision and don't have enough time to ride it or room for one more bike. Thanks, Dain

It dosn't look any lower than stock to me. There is only 3-4 inches travel normally anyway. Someone may know the normal travel for sure, but, looks OK to me cooldude

The front suspension travel is about 5 inches or 130 mm. Also, what kind shape are your rear shock grommets?

My 99 standard looks like it set's up a little higher in the front. If you compare your video at 1:33

against mine looking at the fork compared to the chrome shield. Mine is bone stock.

klb yep you are right. If I stop the video at 1:37 you can see that my front is about 1 1/2 inches lower than yours. Now like I said I have a new spacer but need some help from someone that has replaced it or lowered theirs. The rears are fine I checked them when I paint the parts. Thanks, Dain

I'm not aware of any spacers in the front shocks of the Valkyrie.

If you observe lower front ends because of the shocks I know of only four different ways to achieve that lowered stance.

1) Sliding the whole shock assembly up in the triple trees.

2) Aftermarket springs intentionally made shorter to achieve lowering.

3) Modifying the OEM springs, making them shorter (or weaker) to gain the lowering.

4) Raking out the front end.

None of these account for any internal spacers within the shock absorber the way I view it.

Sounds like you've already figured it out, but I just went out to the garage and my '03 Standard with stock forks has 5" of fork tube showing behind the chrome guards.
