I bought my Valkyrie used with progressive 412's on it. The bike Is a 98 tourer with 42,000 miles on it. No idea what the mileage on the shocks is. It sinks down quite a bit about 1-2 inches when I sit on it. I'm about 250lbs. The preload is as high as it can go,

I like to ride the corners hard and don't lug the bike a lot.
I am trying to decide between having progressive put HD springs on the 412's for 30.00 plus the shipping. Or buying a set of new 416's.

I would like to hear thoughts about the 416's. I believe I can fill and change the pressure in them with an accessory pump.

I searched and did not find a lot of reviews on the site.

There's lots on here don't like the 416's, I'm not one of them.

I have had them on my valk for 2.5 years and ride mainly the twisty local mountain roads here in Spain. I find they absorb the occasional rough road here well (our road surfaces are generally very good) and they handle the twisties really well. My rear passenger, when she occasionally comes out with me, enjoys the ride as well and says it is much smoother than the standard shocks that were on before.

It is purely a personal feel but I like them.

I put the 416's on my '84 Wing a couple years ago. Happy with them and they changed the handling of the bike in a positive way.

I put them om my phat gurl because of two reasons...

1. I can keep the bike lower when I ride solo and pump them up when the wife joins me or I load her down; and
2. They can be rebuilt.

Before I put them on, she had 412's on her that were old and sloppy.  When I went darkside the tire rubbed slightly even after a nut mod, two up.  I do it again if I had it all over again!
