Lifes too short Ride it hard

Started having issues with my ignition switch last year. The little trap door had come apart, and is actually laying inside the switch case. So.... I've been thinking of different alternatives.
 1) Put a battery cut off switch in one of the saddle bags. Then I would just have to turn the switch on/off, but would have to turn the power on/off in the bag when I leave the bike.
 2) This is the one that I am working on. Using a key fob (with RFID) that is reconized in my pocket. It would automatically turn the ignition switch on when I walked up to the bike. Just hit the starter button and go. Get where I'm going pull up, put the stand down, get off the bike, walk away, and the bike shuts off.
The guys at Auto Loc say they think it can be done

Hopefully it can be done for half this cost.

If you get a fine wire pick, you can pick out the pieces from the switch housing. There's lots of Valks running around without the little door. But I like your RFID switch pod idea.

You can simply pull the locking parts out of the switch and it will work forever.

As long as it still looks like a key lock switch, no one will mess with it and besides:

No motorcycle thief will ever want to steal your Valkyrie.

It's too old and definitely not in demand, especially with all of the Harley's and sport bikes around.

The same thing happened to me. There's a lot of options. A locksmith can take your lock apart and
take the busted door pieces out and put it back together. Heck, if you like playing with tiny parts and
springs that have to go back together right, you could probably do it.  coolsmiley

I ended up getting a whole new tourer lockset from HDL for around $130 and had an
adventure changing out all the locks. The ignition is sold separately - if you don't mind
having a different key, you could get that - it is one of the easiest to change out.
