They look so badass but what exactly is it that they do?

Don't they fill up with water and other stuff/dirt?

Do they bypass the air filter?

 ???

What do I have to do to my IS to get the front ones to clear the pod?

They add chrome to our bikes. Why? Because you can't have too much chrome. Simple.
They don't bypass anything.
This will help you with an install in an Interstate.

They look really cool. The stacks have an opening in the bottom that allow water to leak out. They do nothing, but, most admirerers of our girls think that they must be "supercharged or something".
The stacks are the best custom items I've added to her.

....or ebay from time to time might have some.  However, on ebay, buyer beware.

Be very careful of buying from eBay. Bought some Aeromach stacks from a vendor there and they didn't fit. Turns out the were from the very first production run of the product. I contacted Aeromach about the problems I was having mounting them and they offered to exchange them for me for free. Now that's customer service! It wasn't really the eBay vendor's fault, they had no way of knowing as they were an authentic part. Best to buy from either Aeromach or Honda Direct Line.

Are those the stick on stacks someone had gotten fooled by hem on e bay. I looked for the old thread I think it was Paxton. Not to start up that argument but just be careful when buying them.
