Don and Simone worked hard to provide/cook enough food (which included some great meat, 'nanner puddin' and ummmm, chocolate pie) for everyone that was supposed to be there, plus a few that might drop in that didn't sign up, and then almost half didn't show up, and several did not have enough manners to call and cancel.

For those of you who signed up and did not show up and did not call and give your regrets --SHAME ON YOU!!!  I was told by someone that of the ones that signed up but did not come only 5 actually called and gave them a heads up.  I do not remember who told me that or if theese are the actual figurea, but if it is even remotely close to right...  SHAME...  (If these figure are wrong, I apologize for the rant)

I'll get off my soapbox now!

Thanks again Don and  Simone for the 5th annual get together.

Sorry we could not make it.  But I did let TR know in advance.  Ike really screwed up our plans.

I talked with Bandit this afternoon.  He said he tried calling TR and Hard 6 several times and couldn't get through.  Maybe some of the others had a similar problem.  I know cell reception is less than normal where I live.  I guess Ike hit cell towers too.

I know of at least two that did not even try, and suspect there are more.  I think the statistics are that about 20% of those who RSVP that they are coming to any function do not show up or call and let the host/hostesss know that they will not be able to come after all.  I think it's a shame when there is so much work/expense that goes into any big function like that.

The last party (not a biker function) I gave, I had 30 reply they were coming... 5 later called and gave regrets...10 actually showed up..

Maybe I'm just oversensitive about it  Undecided

It's not being oversensitive at all.  Don and Simone go to a great deal of expense and time to put these events on every year.  They plan based on those who register and if you don't come back and say something, then they plan for you to be there.

I had originally registered but had to pull out as my new business required my presence on the 26th and 27th.  I did notify Don a week or so before the event that I unfortunately could not attend.  As I see the pictures, I am very sad I could not be there.  However, new businesses are time hogs and it just didn't work out.

If we are fortunate and TR has this again next year, I'll be there.

As for anyone who registered, did not go and did not notify Don and Simone that they were not coming, then that is just bad manners, IMHO.
