My lovely bride (a.k.a., "Santa"), purchased a set of Memphis shades lowers and mounts for my 2000 GL1500CT Honda Valkyrie.

Before I dive in, thought I'd reach out and see if someone has already installed and what, if any tricks of the trade can be had.

Please note: I have a Clearview Sport windshield with a 5 position vent (shortest one Clearview sells).  Don't think it matters much, just thought I'd add that piece of information.

Thanks again in advance for sharing your insights,

-Bob

Love it, definately reduces the wind streaming up between the windshield and gas tank, especially with the vent FULLY open (go figure).

Also, I'm in the process of installing lowers, so I'll report back how that eliminates the aforementioned buffeting.

When two-up, my passenger (wife) reports she has more wind coming into her neck up, however she usually wears a full face so not an issue.

My advice... stay away from Big Bike Parts lowers!

I may yet end up with Memphis Shades Lowers by Spring....

see my past thread...   http://www.valkyrieforum.com/bbs/index.php/topic,50170.0.html

Memphis shades a great product.

Ditto that.  The MS batwing and the lowers...the bike tracks like it's on rails and with no buffeting.

memphis makes bigger lowers now. I have the org and these shields bolt right on to org clamps. just have to re-position clamps, or buy their kit which comes with new shorter clamps.
