VALANCE COVERS - how to install ?

Can anyone explain how to install a valance cover correctly?

Do you first insert the 3 cable + 3 sparkplug caps in place and then try to push a little down to let the sparkplug caps make contact with the sparkplug, or do you first install the sparkplug caps correctly onto the sparkplug and then try to install the valance cover over the already installed cables and caps?

I do it like the first step , but then it is difficult to install the sparkplug caps + they are not completely on the sparkplugs....

keep the spark plug wire connected to the plug.  Use a small amount of rubbing alcolol on each of the 3 spark plug wires where the valance will be contacting the wire (you're doing one side at a time of course).  The alcohol makes the rubber wire insulation real slippery, and also evaporates so there is no mess.  i basically feed all 3 wires into the grooves of the valance at the same time.  It is a little tricky...but it gets easier after doing it a few times.  Once fininshed, put the sunglasses on and take a look at the bling!  NICE!

Cleaner Man, the spark plug wire keeps of course connected to the plug, but what I mean is, do you first insert the plug onto the sparkplug and then the valance cover , or do you first install the plug properly in the valance cover as it should be mounted, and push then the 3 plug together with the valance cover onto the sparkplug-ends?

Those valances are a pain in the a**.  You do not want to use them.  Just email me, and I will give you my address, so you can get rid of them!    LOL

I had mine off, but I cannot remember just how I got them back on?  Just kind of kept wiggling.  Did not use any alcohol, but would have helped.  Did not seem too bad?

Put the leads in place on the plugs but leave them loose.  Put the valence in place but don't put the screws in.  Reach under the valence and push the boots firmly onto the plugs.  Install and tighten the valence screws.

1 additional thing to do when installing them:
Put some "never-seize" on the bolts, or you'll regret it when you go to change your plugs.
If you also have the engine covers you might want to do the same there also. Broken bolts are not fun to try & get out.
