Does anyone have the specs for those TBR triple trees?
I'm thinking about making one.

I have a set.

A while back I took a detailed set of measurements and provided them to another VRCC member, as he was going to do same. I'll be glad to get some data for you but it'll have to wait a couple weeks - have some "finals" (as it were) coming up and I have to study...

That will do. Thanks.

I am looking into getting a production run by a qualified third party going.  A couple of questions:

Who would want a set?

We have decent specs but if anyone has the actual specs or measurements from TBR or their units
and are willing/can share  them it would be great!

What would be the difference between the TBR units and the trees that Daryl made and still provides on a requested basis? He had/has both the 6 deg. and 4 deg. tree adaptation for the Valkyrie. What's different about the TBR's, don't think I've ever seen them?

As was mentioned further up, in this post, give Darryl a call...

I am running his prototype 'offset' Triple Tree on my bike (one of a kind, to my knowledge), so he already has the program for his Bridgeport machine, ready to go.

It was my understanding that his Triple Clamp emulated the TBR clamp, in that it pushed the forks (and wheel) out 1", without changing the rake.

Not too noticable in this pic, but everything he makes is a work of art.

From his website - http://www.xf6-custom.com/valkpartspage.html

Someone should ring him up, and see if he would be interested in making a run...

Black Dog,

Thanks for the clarification!  It sounds like Daryl has in fact made you what I (and I think others) are looking for.  I will give him a ring to discuss making me one and will provide an update.

I spoke with Daryl at FX6 Designs for some time today.  We had a long and informative discussion on Valkyrie design and handling and of course triple trees.  Here is the net:

a.) He will make a run of 3 or 4 TBR type offset triple trees if there is a demand, he has done the R&D and could get them done before the end of the year.

b.) We talked about his current 4, 6, & 8 degree (additional rake) Valkyrie triple trees.  He believes that the 4 degree provides the best all around improvement to the handling of the Valkyrie (even better than the TBR design) and in fact reduces the TRAIL from over 6" stock to about 4.5" (which is what I am looking for from the TBR type).  The 6 degree version reduces TRAIL even more and the 8 degree the most down to about 1.5" which he will only sell for trike conversions.  Note: a sidecar set up would actually be best with only 1" of TRAIL according to Daryl.

c.) Based on the discussion I have ordered his 4 degree triple tree as it will meet my objectives (reduce TRAIL) improve low speed balance and handling, improve steering response (a surprise to me) and not compromise high speed stability.  He makes them in batches and will produce the next batch in the next 2-3 weeks.  It sounds like I am in for some outstanding quality and superb handling based on years of focus on the topic and the Valk.

Black Dog:  thanks so much for pointing me (us) in his direction!

My pleasure...  Wink

When it comes to understanding Valkyrie geometry, there is none better than Daryl (IMNSHO).  He's also a good guy to work with, as Withoutwings found out with his over the phone educational session  cooldude

Good luck, and remember to post pictures!

I have  Daryl's 6 degree trees with 11.5 rear shocks on my 97 and it is a handling dream at low speeds as well as highway speeds compared to my Interstate. He is a wealth of info and always willing to share his knowledge.
