Hello Fellow Valk riders:
I have received excellent advice and info in the past andf would like to go to the well again.

#1
I am considering putting a trike kit on my 99 Valk Interstate and am seriously looking at a "Voyager".  They seem to have the most to offer.

#2
If I go with a kit I feel I should go to the "dark side".  I realize how fast the crown can be worn off a MC tire just pulling a trailer and can only imagine how fast it would go in a trike kit situation.

May I have your thoughts and comments please.

Thanking you ion advance
Roger

Which kit are you considering? The car tire should give you better mileage. I don't see any downside doing this with the bike in this configuration.

If you are looking for a on-off trike kit like the Voyager is, this guy's unit has independent rear suspension instead of straight axle.  It's a bit cheaper, too. Tow pac makes a removable too. richlandroadster.com.
The permanent conversions are probly better, but way higher in cost.  Hoser

A very good resource: www.triketalk.com

I had a Motortrike kit on a VTX 1300.  It was Okay, but I would look at others before I went Motortrike again.

I have know several others with Voyagers.  They seem to like them IF for whatever reason they want to go back and forth between 2 and 4 wheels.  Those who just wanted to stay triked didn't care for them and each one went and got a regular kit.

What many, probably most trikers do for the front tire is to take a rear MC tire and put it up front with the rotation reversed.  They don't use a radial, too much flop in the sidewall on corners.  The tire has more tread so lasts much longer.  It's reversed so the pressure on the splice in the tire is proper for being on the front.  The other reason it's reversed is so that the tread throws water straight back instead of at an angle and under the rear tires.  I never had any hydroplaning on mine.  I didn't ride fast in the rain either.

Many folks on the board I listed above have gone the Voyager route, sign up, and talk to them.

I have no experience with them, but my buddy just put a Voyager Kit on his Goldwing.  He hasn't ridden it much yet because of winter but he likes it.  From what I see when I ride with him is it bottoms out easily on parking lot entrances and speed bumps, turning looks like a chore and the noise from the wheels/suspension bouncing would drive me nuts  Cheesy but I haven't ridden it, only followed.  Just my 2c, good luck and ride safe! cooldude
