Mine wouldn't fit in the 5x8 trailer I had.  Perhaps a v-nosed trailer might work.

When my I/S is loaded in my pick-up truck with an eight foot box. I can close the tailgate, but the I/S trunk hangs out over the tailgate.

Here is my IS on my 5x7' trailer...

There is more than a foot hanging off the back of the trailer.  A V up front would help TONS...not only to trap the wheel but also to give you a little more room to pull the bike on the trailer.

As you can see you can get the IS on a 7 on bed, but the part that would have me concerned is not getting enough tongue weight.  You should be putting about 10% of your gross trailer weight on the hitch of the towing vehicle as Hoser has done.  If you're pulling across town at low speed it might pull fine but out on the interstate at high speed and for a long distance,  not so good.

I think from front tire to rear fender is 97 or 98 inches.  You could probably fit it in diagonally.  What I do know is that with my Valk straight in the back of my 8' pickup box, I can't quite close the tailgate.

My bike is longer than it used to be, but back when it was in Standard mode, it was about 1/2 a foot or maybe a little less too long to fit my 5x8 trailer.

If you're trailer shopping, I'd look for a 5x10 or a v-nosed 5x8.

I've got a trailer similar to Hoser's. On mine, I fabricated some extenders out of 1" angle iron that allowed the tailgate/ramp to tilt back and avoid touching the bike. Works great! My bikes are standards. Sorry no pics.

I have the 4X8 harbor freight trailer and my interstate  will fit on there. Trailered to Missouri and back year before last with no problem. I have the haulmaster chock and mounted it to the very front of the trailer. I did build a small ramp and I limited the amount of the tilt angle with some small chains. Usually don't use the tilt if I can find a curb to back up to or a low spot to back the tires in.

Lips Sealed  Mine fits on a friends 4x8, but its right to the wire, no tailgate, just a flatbed.  With the front tire against the front edge, the rear fender edge hangs off the back.

As my wife is no longer able to ride on the bike, but if she wants to go to the event anyway, when she goes, we trailer.  When she doesn't, I ride.  Neither of us are young pups anymore.  She has many miles on the bike over the 40 years we have ridden, just not able anymore.  I hope you get that many miles and years in before you are done.  Hoser  Smiley

Silly biker,  Trailers are for boats....

YoungPup, you forgot Harley's.

Back a few years ago, I bought a trailer to haul MGM on.      Mainly, I was my granddaughters babysitter during the week.    I didn't have time to ride to an event and get back home in time to get the girls ready and off to school on Monday.

Besides, I have probably 4X's as many miles on MGM than you have on your last 3 bikes.

So please, put your mind in gear before you engage your mouth.     I'm getting tired of hearing all this BS about trailering.     At my age, 80, I really think I earned the right to trailer.

My tourer fits in my 8' trailer, but I have to put it in on an angle, to be able to shut the gate/ramp.  Not a problem.

+1. The wife and I do the same. If we're going east I drop her off at family in IA them continue on to where the ride is. I'd rather trailer than stay home.

i too have a harbor fright trailer but I had it modified.I cut out a one foot section full lenght and 8" deep and welded in a new floor and made a ramp about 1'x1'  .The valk fits perfect and can be loaded and unloaded without any help.I release the tilt and touch the ramp with the front tire which makes the trailer tilt.I then just ride up and it will tilt back down.Get off and strap down ,all finished.I also upgraded to a bigger tire I bought at les schwab tire store. The nice thing about this is the low center of gravity. The tires are only about ten inches from the ground.
sorry no pics but I think I can send some thru email

The trailering idea is about being able to do more when we want to explore this country.  I've done the 700 mi. days.  I pull a trailer too with all the camp gear.  So crossing the Nev desert @ 100 Degrees gets a little tedious.  Put the bike on the trailer with even more camp stuff in the truck and take the bike to wherever.  If we wanna go for an over nighter or two or three or we take of from there. I'll ride as much if not more once I'am at my destination too.  Come back to camp and enjoy the AC for the 1500 mi or more ride home.
