Neither of my headlights are working on high or low beam. I have been making some modifications and adding bling. I have removed the fairing and both the left and right (handlebar) switch housings.  I replaced both switch housings with chromes ones. I did not disconnect the battery when change them out. I have checked the fuse and its ok. I don't think is the starter switch because I get current at the blue wire with the white stripe. Could it be the hi/low switch, Or have a burnt out one or both of my relays. If one relay is fried such as the low beam relay, would the headlight still work on high beam. I am getting voltage through the red wire at the relays. What is the best way to check the relays? Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tested for voltage at the headlight socket on either side and in High and low beam setting?

I would guess that you managed to disconnect something in the fairing accidently or missed putting one of the connectors/sockets back together.

I have checked for voltage at the headlight sockets and do not have any. I have also checked all the connectors in the fairing and they are connected and tight. I'm thinking I shorted out something like a relay when I changed the switch housings.

It is possible the start button is not returning all the way out after you changed the housings. I have been wrong before cooldude

The start switch was the first thing i checked. However, I was getting voltage at the blue wire with the white stripe which is the trigger from the start button and the button moves freely. I checked both relays and they were ok. Found that the hi/low switch is bad. Must have damaged it when I replace the covers. Pulled it appart and found the spring that pushes the copper contact agaist the switch laying in the bottom of the houseing. I broke the switch apart and made contact between the hot and low contact a the light come on. Its a shame you can't by just the switch. Anyway, I ordered a new housing for $58.25 plus shipping.  Ouch!! Thanks for all your help and input!!
