San Jose, CA. 1999 I/S 232 miles when bought 11/05

I needed to do some wire movement and inspection to try and resolve a couple problems. An audio noise on my I/S stereo and an at normal operating temp misfire from the right bank. I couldn't figure out if it was an electrical problem for both or either so I dove DEEP into the electrical side to check out that darn wire loom connector that others have found to be a culprit for dash/stereo problems. I wasn't sure these two issues were related but I figured lets shotgun the issue and start at the worst case and go from there. I know slow jets. I don’t think so but I have been wrong before(we will get back to that later).
Basically if I run the volume up past 13 or 14 it will play fine for a few minutes then it crackles or pops and then volume goes off. This is with or without the Amp in place, I rewired the amp here a while back when this problem started and used RCA connecters to make a swap in the future easier. The problem is what led me to rewire since I thought I had blown up the amp. After pulling the amp out and testing with a rewire, the amp still worked perfectly fine but I got the popping still so I pulled the amp out of the circuit and was planning on just running the stereo alone but the stereo did the same thing without the amp in place so the amp went back in.
The misfire happens only from idle to 3K, it's the worst at 2,500-3,000. definitely on the right bank, considered the coils but the left side has no misfire. So what about synch that looks just as perfect as it ever has almost no fluctuation in the gauges. I have ran 4 tanks with extremely high levels of sea foam on one tank then Techron on the next no improvement. This is the worst at full warm, not so bad with the choke on but still there, I know I know I know,,,, Slow jets. I will investigate that better after I get the wiring all back together, by then the slow jets will probably be clogged at the speed I work.
So I am having a problem getting my battery box situated properly and the problems are related to the plumbing for the clutch line I replaced the wiring I have added for various things including the belly tank and such. What I need is a diagram or better yet a picture of the relays attached to the front of the battery box or a link to that info.

I trimmed down some of the edges of the sides of the battery box to allow easier placement of stock ad added wiring on the sides.

So one issue at a time the relays placement first, thanks.

I will move back to the other two issues later.

Thanks in advance.

Rattlebars has the schematics from the manual: http://www.rattlebars.com/valkfaq/STschem.jpg
and some other stuff, maybe there's something helpful there....

Have you looked in the Service Manual?  Maybe the diagram on Page 1-33 will help...

Thanks guys, the wire connections aren't my problem it is the physical locations of the relays and how mother Honda had them positioned on the mounts on the front of the battery box.

I have a couple pictures from previous work I have done but none that show more than one relay visible in the picture.

Sorry I am not very clear when I try And describe things my wife and kids tell me that all the time and they are standing right in front of me when I am explaining things to them so when I type things out it often gets more confusing.

Have you looked in the Service Manual?  Maybe the diagram on Page 1-33 will help...

That's getting closer, I am just too blind to make it all out.
I guess so long as I didn't disturb the bank angle sensor it really doesn't matter where each of the relays is actually mounted,,, does it?

The color coding will be of some help to figure out which one is which.
Maybe it's the Audio Main relay giving me audio cut out issues? Might just swap it out with a new one.

Yes, it does matter as far as compactness in this area.  They "nest" a specific way to fit properly in the smallest area.

I have gone through this puzzle myself when I removed all the relays and it took a little patience to get everything back in there correctly.

Patience and experimentation is your friend.  If memory serves me, several connect together via the rubber boots.

Good luck....
