Has anyone ever attempted (successfully) to remove the impeller from the water pump shaft in an attempt to rebuild the bump.......I have a old one and wondering about rebuilding it?

Thanks

John Schmidt may have-maybe he'll chime in with his 2 cents.

Rico....the impeller was eaten up on the swapout I did when you sent me one so didn't bother to mess with it. Figured I'd wait until I found one with bad bushings or other problems and if it has a good impeller, then give it a shot. If the spirit moves me one of these days, I'll see what's involved in removing the blades just in case. Right now, the spirit hasn't been too active as of late.  Grin

John, thanks for the reply to Rico......I just happen to be rummaging thru my Valk stuff and came across this pump and thought it might be a fun project.  The impeller seems to be steel and maybe cast into a softer pot metal that is pressed onto the pump shaft. It's always a puzzle when things seem to be pressed together from both ends....... crazy2

P.S.....here's to your spirit getting a Valkyrie Viagra injection and getting some wind.. Grin

Rio, I don't need the "Valkyrie Viagra" injection, it's only Thursday and I've already been out on the bike three times. Running errands, going to the gym....any excuse. I'd use it this afternoon except there are rain clouds gathering.  cooldude
