I was wondering if anyone has used this light bar? It is the light bar with 21 high powered LED's that sequence back and forth in running light mode ala Knight Rider (Kit) and when the brakes are applied it flashes foe 5 or 6 seconds and then goes solid. I was wondering if its bright enough and is it worth the 40 bucks they are asking. Never have to much light in the back. I am changing out the rear tire and while it's apart I would run wires for it if it seemed worthwhile.

You didn't state who the manufacture is.
Here is my take:
I've had a "Knight raider" light bar on my Trail Blazer and the wife and I loved it. Thought it was so cool! This one was 4' long and did not stop running back and forth, as long as you held the brake it sequenced.
After about 11months it broke. Only the lights about a foot on each end worked.
I called the business that I bought it from, Pickup Specialties out of Conroe >>correction: Spring<< (north of Houston) and their warranty girl told me it has a "lifetime" warranty. Which I was glad to hear because I was terribly busy at that time. So I didn't worry with it then. Unfortunatly, she was wrong!! A month or so later I pulled it off and sent it back to the manufacture for repair/replacement only to find out it had only a one year warranty. It was about two weeks out of warranty and they would not fix it!!
The a$$hole manufacture is Plasmaglow. I think from AZ. I called numerous times and discussed this but they would not budge! Their warranty girl even told me this is one of their most expensive products but it only has the one year warranty unlike the rest of their stuff that has lifetime!!
So this is my suggestion: If it's made by Plasmaglow run far away!!!
But if you decide to get it anyways BE SURE to read and understand the warranty and don't expcet any help if you have issues!!
However if it's not made by the "plasmaglow a$$es" I'd like to know cause I'd like to get another one.

Sorry I didn't include the mfg. It's made by Custom Dynamics. Looks pretty good. I just wasn't sure how visible it was. I saw some adhesive LED's at Auto Zone but they didn't seem weather proof though they did seem pretty bright.

I inherited the 12 strip non-sequential (LB03) version light strip. Hooked it up to the IS just before the 3 Volcanos in 3 Days trip into northern CA and southern OR last Sept. With all the twisties the group ran, at speed, it could only have helped. On a previous trip up through CO, WY & SD with a few Valks and handfull of Goldwings, I had one of the Wingers ask if my brake lights were working. They were but definitely not as visible as the Wing'd Group. It definitely adds some visibility when braking. I've seen the sequential version that continues to run back and forth when not in use and that one wasn't for me. I still want to install the Valk Standard brake light for additional visibilty as well. Here's the web link for Custom Dynamics. They have a video as well to give you the general idea. http://www.customdynamics.com/knight_rider_led_light_bar.htm

Thanks for all the input. I was going to install two on my license plate but wanted a little more visability so I am making a bracket to mount them above the tail light for a little extra visibility. I am not sure I like the back and forth feature of the light either in running light mode but it appears as though if you don't want that function you can leave it disconnected and just use the brake light strobe effect if you wish.

I have the same bar, where the light is on all the time like a running light, but does not do the Knight rider "thing." I thought that was a bit over the top. It was on the same page as the knight rider lights. It flashes about 5 or 6 times when you apply the brakes, and you can not miss it. Money well spent. I used a little "T-bar" and mounted it on my tail light. If you're still undecided, let me know and I'll take a short video of it later.

Did you use the 4.7" one or the longer 7.5" one. The "T" bar is what I was making up for mine. I am going to buy the 7.5" one with the back and forth feature but if it doesnt appeal to me after install I will disconnect that feature. If you have time a little video of it in operation would be nice. Thanks. John

If you disco the scrolling feature, I suspect it will be off until you apply the brakes. I like having a second running/brake light. If one dies, I still have one. Will do a video after dinner.

BF thank you for the videos showing the operation of the light. I think I actually like the back and forth function of the running light. Really gets your attention and that's the reason for the light. The video shot in Arizona I am actually in it. It was a New Years day ride last year. Funny to see me and the bike. Small world. Thanks again.

Tx, I dont know if this would have helped you back then, but I had a similar experience with a projector that broke just beyond the one year warranty. A friend of mine suggested to check with my credit card company to see if they offer extended coverage. It turns out they did, and evrything i am buying with this Visa card automatically gets another year of warranty. Awesome. I had to pay for the bill and send them the invoice, they then reimbursed me. I found out that many credit card companies do this, and most people dont know about this benefit. Check your card and see if yours offers this. The item has to have been purchased with that credit card of course. The feature os called extended warranty protection. Read more here... http://bucks.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/08/01/credit-cards-with-the-best-extended-warranties/You didn't state who the manufacture is.
