Just looking ahead for when I do some scheduled & preventative maintenance on the Lady later this spring. Up until now I've just been using the Mity Vac, but it's kinda messy at times. I looked at the Vacula system that replenishes the master cyl. while you bleed it down but can't find one that sells for a price that matches my wallet. I've seen them in use, they have a cap that takes the place of the m/c cap and a hose into the top of it leading to a jug of new fluid. Very clean and efficient, but the speed bleeders are more in my price range.

Having said all that, what size do I need? I see on ebay I can get a set in stainless for all four spots for about $48 and are listed as 8 x 1.25 for the size.

If you check the speed bleeder article in shop talk, the numbers are there and if you click on the website listed there you can pull up the pictures also...

Thanks for the info. Just wondering....is it worth the extra expense to order the SS version?

I cannot answer as to the SS. I can see where the longer nipple would work, I have had the hose come off the short ones when I have bled brakes before.

I used the non-stainless for a few years, and then on one go-around a few years
ago, I put in stainless. They both work fine.

Another poster questioned me about the stainless, apparently there's several grades
of stainless, he wanted me to see if the stainless speed bleeders were magnetic...
they are.

I ordered a set of SS from a parts supplier, $48 for all four. That includes the longer one for the clutch. Speed Bleeder wanted $15 each for the SS so I did alright I guess.
