I picked up an 88 GL1500 Wing that has a sweet Borla Exhaust System. Will it fit on a Valkyrie? The bike has been sitting and if I cant get it running I will probably part it out but the Mufflers look nice. They are round, 4" (I think).

I'd check the header pipes and make sure you aren't introducing a restriction....just wonder if they are smaller with 2 carbs versus 6???????

I don't think they could get much smaller than the Valkyrie.

The Valkyrie are very small diameter, maybe 5/8" or even smaller.

The Wing exhaust is in basically three sections. A header pipe, a center collector chamber, and then the mufflers. It would be best to think of it as a 6-into-1-into-2 exhaust. The center collector chamber bolts to the frame in addition to being slipped onto the header pipes. The mufflers then slip on to the center collector chamber, and bolt to the saddlebag mounting frame. I'd like to be able to put the stock Valkyrie exhaust on to my Wing, but I don't think either of us would have success due to the differences in the frames.

Yup you're right, I looked at the parts diagram since my original post. Until I got this wing I never knew Borla made any bike exhaust.

CA, you're more correct than I, but I went out and looked at the extra set I have and I think 1" is optimistic.

Really actually measures a little less that 1" and if you look down in a bit you can see it bottlenecks down a bit also, maybe to 7/8".

But you are clearly more correct than I.
